The second report, “Mexico Enters Its Production Peak with High-Quality Fruit Thanks to the Advancement of New Genetics,” shows that so far this season the country is delivering fruit in excellent condition, with outstanding firmness and soluble solids levels.
Over the past decade, Mexico has experienced sustained expansion, supported by its favorable agroclimatic conditions, proximity to the U.S. market, and the adoption of Southern Highbush genetics.
However, in the last two to three seasons, growth in planted area has slowed. Factors such as logistical disruptions, stricter phytosanitary requirements, and challenges in varietal adaptation have limited further expansion.
