With the aim of strengthening the technical development of the industry and providing key tools for growers, the 2nd International Specialization Course in Blueberry Production will be held from March 17 to 19, 2026, in Lima, Peru.
The event, organized by Consultora Agrícola y Comercial Santa María (CASM Blueberries), will include two technical sessions at the Sheraton Lima Hotel and a Field Day at Qali Fruit, a subsidiary of Agrícola Cerro Prieto.
“This is the blueberry production course with the greatest technical scope held annually in Peru. It brings together the world’s leading specialists in each area, so for those of us working in this industry, attending is essential,” said Sebastián Ochoa, director of CASM Blueberries.
A comprehensive lineup of specialists
The event will feature the participation of leading national and international experts. Among them is Roger Horak, founder of OZblu, who will address the future of early blueberry varieties at a global level.
From a financial perspective, Daniel Serdio, Group M&A Senior Manager at ADQ, will analyze investors’ perspectives on the blueberry business and the factors behind the growing interest in this crop.
Meanwhile, Andrés France, PhD in Plant Pathology from Cornell University, will present a detailed analysis of the main phytosanitary issues recorded during the last season, with special emphasis on the management of thrips and powdery mildew.
Thomas Fichet, PhD in Biotechnology from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Production at the Faculty of Agronomy of the University of Chile, will seek to clarify a common source of confusion among growers: the difference between working with dosage and working with concentration.
From the perspective of innovation and new technologies, Dr. Patricio Muñoz, professor specializing in blueberry breeding and director of the Horticultural Crop Breeding Chair at the University of Florida (USA), will explore technologies for developing new varieties. “What is truly important is not only knowing these tools, but understanding when and how to use them strategically to develop products that generate a positive impact on the industry,” he noted.
The course is positioned as a key platform for professional development, knowledge exchange, and networking in an industry that continues to evolve at great speed.
