The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) reported that Peruvian agricultural exports totaled US$3.055 billion during the first quarter of 2026 (January–March). This figure represents a 6.9% increase compared to the same period in 2025, reinforcing the presence of Peruvian agricultural products in international markets.

Of the total value exported through March, non-traditional products accounted for 94.6% of shipments, generating US$2.889 billion in sales and posting a 5.4% increase. Meanwhile, traditional exports represented the remaining 5.4%, reaching US$166 million and recording a notable 43.0% growth, driven mainly by stronger demand for unroasted coffee, whose exports totaled US$147 million.

Performance within the non-traditional segment was led by fresh grapes, which generated US$745 million in exports, representing 25.8% of the total. Fresh blueberries ranked second, with exports valued at US$321 million and an 11.1% share of total agricultural exports.

The ranking of leading export products was completed by fresh mangoes, with US$256 million in exports, and avocados, which reached US$237 million.

The United States and Europe Lead Destination Markets

The top ten destinations for Peruvian agricultural exports were the United States, the Netherlands, Spain, Mexico, Chile, Ecuador, the United Kingdom, Canada, Colombia, and China. Together, these markets accounted for 80.7% of the total export value during the period.

MIDAGRI also highlighted that exports reached US$824 million in March alone, representing a 6.2% increase compared to the US$776 million recorded in the same month of 2025.

“Thanks to this performance, Peru’s agricultural trade balance closed the first quarter with a surplus of US$1.368 billion, a figure that exceeds the result obtained during the same period of the previous year by 19.3%,” the ministry concluded.
